Online Golf Challenge and WGL Million Dollar Shootout are excited and proud to announce an innovative and unique concept for online golf video gaming and real golf. We at OGC are taking online gaming to the next level, basically a cross over into the real play of golf. Imagine playing golf at a world-class venue, in front of a national television audience, for a chance to win $1,000,000.00. Well that is exactly what 22 very lucky individuals will do, using their full handicap, over a seven-week period.
Players will compete online playing the No.1 rated Golf Game, Links 2003, the most realistic golf game for P.C.users, in a 20 round, 10 Course qualifying process, featuring some of the most top rated courses in golf such as Kapalua Plantation, Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Augusta National and more. 250 of the top players will be chosen, from that, there will be a 10 round, 5 course challenge where the top 50 players will be chosen. They will then be flown into Orlando to compete in a 4 round, 2 course challenge which will be taped and viewed at airtime, the 50 contestants will play online, where the final 22 Players will then move on to the real course and compete in the WGL Scramble. All qualifing rounds will be played with an online handicapping system to assure accuracy and fair play.
The online play handicapping system will be as follows:
4 rounds out of the 10 total rounds for the qualifier will be randomly picked from our system (this will determine your handicap for the online play standings), in addition to the 4 rounds, will be 4 holes per round that will also be randomly picked from the 10 rounds played, these holes will be added to your overall handicap from the 4 rounds. These holes will either take away strokes from your overall handicap or keep you at the 4 round overall handicap standing. (i.e. if a hole that is randomly picked is a par 5 and a player scores a 5 or over he will have a stroke taken from his handicap, if the player on that hole scored a birdie or better, their overall will not be affected by that hole). The online handicap will then be averaged with your real play handicap to determine your standings.
For details on the Real Play format, please view the video on the OGC Homepage, click on the WGL Million Dollar Shoot-Out Trailer. The WGL Million Dollar Shootout hosted by the ever-popular John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld" and "Dancing with the Stars") will pit five teams in a scramble format with the winning team walking away with a cool $1,000,000.00 Teams will be made up of four players each. The team handicaps will consist of an “A” player (Lowest Handicap), “B” Player (Next Lowest), “C” Player (Third Lowest) and “D” Player (Highest).
In addition, the teams will get to call on celebrity Pro lifelines to hit a shot for them every six holes. The celebrities will include PGA Tour Star and 2005 Tournament Players Champion Fred Funk, LPGA Star Carin Koch and the Golf Channel’s Big Break II star Don Donitello.

OGC/WGL Challenge Rules
1. All players must play in the Skill Level specified for the challenge they have entered. *Amateurs can play in any Skill Level, but in doing so, they must play at that Skill Level they have entered. *Pros can play only in the Pro and Champ Levels, with their skill level being changed to Champ Skill Level for Champion Challenges.
2. After you have entered the online qualifier challenges, your round must be posted by the designated time.
3. Once an online qualifier challenge has been entered, you must complete the round (18 holes 1 Try per round) before the deadline of the specified time of the challenge. In addition, any tampering with the launch of the game will result in disqualification.
4. OGC is not responsible for any crashes that occur during game play. This rule excludes cases where the OGC client software is at fault, in which case you will start from beginning of the round you were in the process of playing. OGC is not responsible for any malfunctions in your P.C. hardware or software that was not direct caused by the OGC client software. Please check the system requirements in software.
5. Any player that joins a challenge in which they are overqualified will be disqualified. If a player shoots better than the "average score" they filed in the OGC client software , they will be asked to move up from their respective level. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification in the lower level challenge they have entered. We ask for your support on this to keep the challenges fun, and more importantly, to keep the matches fair. This is where the thrills start, and your skills are challenged.
6. *Players in all Challenges have 1 Try per round, any player that ends his First round before completing the round is subject to disqualifications as noted in the game.
7. If you are under 18 years old, you must have a legal guardians permission.
8. Failure to comply with these rules may result in a disqualification. Again, any tampering with the launch of the game will result in disqualification.
OGC and WGL reserve the right to determine the legitimacy and integrity of your play, with their sole discretion to disqualify any player.
